Mt. Zion Reconstruction-US 42 to I-71/75

WHAT

was the scope of the project?

Mt. Zion Rd. (KY 536) was widened from just west of US 42 to I-75. A three-mile section of the roadway was widened from two lanes to five lanes – two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane – with a multi-use path in both directions.

 

Two new roundabouts were built at the intersections of Mt. Zion Rd. and Old Union Rd., and at Mt. Zion Rd. and Harmony Rd.

 

Curb and gutter improvements, as well as storm sewer and drainage work were completed as part of this project. 

WHY

did these improvements take place?

The widening of Mt. Zion Rd. improved safety and supports better traffic flow in this growing area.

WHEN

did work begin and end?

This project is completed!
