Mt. Zion Rd. (KY 536) is being widened from just west of US 42 to I-75. A three-mile section of the roadway will be widened from two lanes to five lanes – two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane – with a multi-use path in both directions.
Two new roundabouts will be built at the intersections of Mt. Zion Rd. and Old Union Rd., and at Mt. Zion Rd. and Harmony Rd.
Curb and gutter improvements, as well as storm sewer and drainage work will be completed as part of this project.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
Traffic on Mt. Zion Rd. (KY 536) between Gunpowder Rd. and Duncan Dr./Blacksmith Pl. has been shifted to a temporary roadway so the existing roadway can be removed and the new alignment can be built. No lane closures are expected while this work takes place.
