I-275 Pavement Rehab​


is the scope of the project?

A total pavement replacement is taking place on a three-mile section of I-275 in both directions between Dixie Hwy. (US 25) and Turfway Rd. (KY 717), just east of the Mineola Pike exit. 


Construction will be completed in two phases:


Phase 1:

I-275 eastbound from Turfway Rd. (KY 717), just east of the Mineola Pike exit, to Dixie Hwy. (U.S. 25) was finished in 2019. Additionally, work was completed on the following ramps:

• I-275 eastbound to I-75 northbound/southbound

• I-275 eastbound exit to Dixie Hwy.

• I-75 northbound ramp to I-275 eastbound 



Phase 2:

I-275 westbound from Dixie Hwy. (U.S. 25) to Turfway Rd. (KY 717), just east of the Mineola Pike exit, will be paved in 2020. Additionally, work will occur on the following ramps:

• I-275 westbound ramp to I-75 southbound

• I-275 westbound entrance from Dixie Hwy.

• I-75 southbound ramp to I-275 westbound


are these improvements taking place?

New pavement on this heavily-traveled section of I-275 will make travel smoother and safer for all who drive this section of the interstate.


will work begin and end?

Construction is being completed in two phases:


Eastbound I-275 work was completed in 2019.


Westbound I-275 will be paved in 2020. Construction is expected to begin in the spring and continue through 2020.

will there be impacts to traffic because of the project work?

Friday, Sept. 4 - Saturday, Sept. 5, weather permitting:


Beginning at midnight (Friday night/Saturday morning), the following ramps will be CLOSED:

  • The ramp from I-71/75 northbound to I-275 westbound 

  • The ramp from I-71/75 southbound to I-275 eastbound 


Both ramps will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. 



much will the project cost?

The construction cost is expected to be approximately $31 million.
